The chilaw fishermen protested against the fisheries minister

chilaw is a fisheries town just 60 miles away from Colombo towards north of Sri Lanka.During the ruff sea period ( July,August,September,October)the statuary of the sea blocked by sand facing lot of troubles to the fishermen to move their boats in and out .They wanted to dig this place and make clear the path for freely moving of boats.
Fisheries minister has given a contact without consulting the fisher community to remove the block sand and bring it away from the sea shore which fishermen believe as a harmful environmental damage .There fore they stopped in proceeding the project and they themselves started digging the blocked area as a community.
